Bio

Sarah qualified in 2012 and joined Porter Dodson in 2015, before being promoted to Partner in 2022. She specialises in employment law and supports clients with hiring to firing and everything in between and beyond. Her work includes advising on disciplinary and grievance matters, sickness absence, performance management and complex discrimination and whistleblowing matters. She represents both employees and employers in the Tribunals and, with a background in corporate and commercial law, Sarah is also ideally placed to advise on redundancy and restructuring, enforcement of restrictive covenants and TUPE.

Sarah quickly grasps the key issues and is known for picking the battles which need fighting. Her advice is pragmatic and designed to give direction and solutions, rather than a list of options. If the objectives aren’t realistic, she ensures that her clients understand why and explores the alternatives. One of her first questions for clients is usually ‘what do you want to achieve’, because knowing the destination often dictates the best route.

Alongside her employment practice, Sarah heads up the Healthcare and Medical team. She has been heavily involved in several primary care initiatives, acting for numerous GP surgeries in exploring alternative ways of working, including through integration with secondary care providers through the South Somerset Symphony project. Sarah continues to advise primary care providers and PCNs in relation to employment and commercial matters.
