Employees at the Taunton office held regular fundraising events and activities, such as dress down days, bake sales and Office Olympics, to raise money for the Rosie Crane Trust. This was then match funded by the Partners to bring the total to £1300.
The Rosie Crane Trust supports bereaved parents through their grief after the loss of a son or daughter of any age. They provide a 24-hour Listening Ear helpline, drop-in centres, a befriending service and subsidised counselling. It was started in October 2006, two years after the loss of Carol Crane’s daughter at 23 as a result of developing leukaemia.
Carol Crane, Chair of the Rosie Crane Trust, said: “We are so grateful to everyone at Porter Dodson for all their time and effort raising this amazing amount of money for the Trust. This wonderful donation will provide enough funds for the Taunton and Yeovil drop-ins and the Listening Ear helpline for a year. Thank you to everyone involved, not just for the fundraising but also for raising the profile of the Trust.”
Lesley Gaskell, Partner in the Taunton office, said: “The Rosie Crane Trust does a wonderful job of supporting parents who are going through an extremely difficult time. I’m delighted we’ve been able to raise this money to help Carol in her efforts. A big thank you to everyone who took part in our activities and kindly donated.”
