On 29th April we were extremely proud to see 11 of our female cyclists take part in Ride the Night, an annual event where women cycle through the streets of London overnight, raising money for life-saving research into cancer. The event raises awareness and funding for three charities: Breast Cancer Now, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action, all of whose fundraising efforts have been hit hard over the last two years, but whose information and support have been needed more than ever.
Setting off at 10pm donning their glitter and finest pink capes, the team manoeuvred around the other 1000+ participants and London’s potholes. A well-deserved pit stop of tea and cake was enjoyed at midnight. All 11 cyclists had completed the race by 2.30am and celebrating their achievements with crisps and prosecco into the small hours!
The team completed the 50km route through London's streets, and the event was a huge success, with the team raising over £3,500 for the events’ charities.
There is still time to donate to this fantastic cause, and stayed tuned for the ‘Porters Peddlers’ next cycling endeavour!
