Bio

I joined Porter Dodson in July 2018 as a newly qualified solicitor after successfully completing my training contract at an established high street practice across East Devon and Somerset. Before my training contract I was a paralegal for 18 months where I gained experience drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration.

I help my clients make the appropriate plans for the future by advising on Wills and Powers of Attorney. I also have experience in dealing with administration of estates and understand how difficult and emotional it is to lose a relative. I therefore assist my clients following this bereavement by providing sympathetic and compassionate advice and will always try and make this process easier for them.

My caring and compassionate approach assists clients at difficult times of their lives, especially when administering an estate. I regularly have to evaluate options for clients and advise them on the optimum course in a straight forward manner.

I am passionate about helping others and keeping active. In April 2015, I combined my two passions by successfully completing the Virgin London Marathon and raising over £10,000 for the RNLI. This money was used to purchase a Rescue Water Craft that is stationed at Watergate Bay, Newquay.

    Testimonials

A difficult time to manage any dealings with a solicitor due to restrictions of the current pandemic. My business was still carried out in a professional manner.

I have been with Porter Dodson since we started farming in 1954.  After my husband died we sold the farm and bought a property with my son. I used you then. I now, I hope, have made my final will and hope you will take care of things when I die.

Emily was very clear and did not use legal jargon - we liked that!
