I joined Porter Dodson in 1995 and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2002. I have specialised in family law throughout my career. Since 2011, I have concentrated my specialism in children law.
I help parents with all aspects of children law, including parents in dispute and also where the Local Authority has concerns about a child. I have particular expertise in cases involving disputed abuse allegations, relocation cases and longstanding contact disputes between parents.
My aim is to listen to my client‘s needs and provide clear, focused advice from the outset, setting out a strategy focused on what they seek to achieve. I make sure my clients are fully supported through the process of negotiation or, if necessary, contested Court proceedings.
I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist in both private law children and public law children. I am committed to resolving disputes in a constructive way.
Outside of work I am kept busy at home in the countryside looking after my family and animals.
First-class service from Sam Smith and Nicole Spencer-White. Extremely professional service throughout the case. Very clear and offered support and guidance. Would highly recommend your services to others.
I had a really positive experience with Sam and her team. Extended family court proceedings are not a pleasant experience, I have worked with Sam for roughly 18 months. I would have been absolutely lost without Sam's guidance and understanding. It was also reassuring to me that she believed my account of things, always on the end of the phone to talk things through constructively and realistically, plus a really lovely person.
A fantastic law firm with a great family law lawyer, Sam Smith. Her and her team were professional, responsive and honest with all of their services and helped me through a very difficult period. Most importantly Sam Smith and her team were reliable which is pivotal for life changing cases. Would highly recommend.
