Bio

I joined Porter Dodson’s Trusts and Estates department in June 2013 from another Taunton firm, during which time I gained my CILEX Level 3 Certificate and Professional Diploma in Law and Practice.

Since 2000 I have been assisting clients, both young and elderly, with their Wills, Powers of Attorney and Trust issues. I have extensive experience in advising both Personal Representatives and Beneficiaries regarding estate administration, including mitigating Inheritance Tax where possible and in connection with intestate estates.

I also specialise in Court of Protection work and I have assisted many clients in making applications to the Court of Protection on behalf of a friend or family member whilst also managing the affairs of individuals under a Deputyship Order.

My experience in these areas allows me to act for individuals and families at what can be a difficult time. Being based in Taunton, and having knowledge of the local area, allows me to meet with clients in the office or at their homes to ensure that they can give their instructions and take advice as best suits their situation.

I am a full member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP).

    Testimonials

We have used Porter Dodson twice for conveyancing and now for our wills. We have found their service and attention to be first-class and would highly recommend them.

    Mr G

Porter Dodson were recommended to me and I was fortunate to be assigned Vicki Thyer who was just what I needed. She was a beacon of strength during a very difficult time, was gentle but efficient, friendly yet the consummate professional. I was so impressed and appreciative of her service I was later happy to utilise Porter Dodson again for the selling of the house and purchase of another.
