Porter Dodson offers a structured one-week work experience programme designed to give you hands-on exposure to the legal sector and what a career in law could look like for you. Our programme is unpaid and can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis to suit your availability.
We create a tailored timetable for each candidate, which includes:
An overview of the tasks and projects you’ll be working on.
Time spent with experienced fee earners across different legal departments.
Opportunities to attend and observe client meetings and gain practical insight into legal work.

Current CV and cover letter outlining your background and motivation.
Office locations you are able to attend.
Your availability (specific dates or timeframes you are available).
Legal departments you are particularly interested in, if you have a preference. Although this is helpful, we will still consider your application if you’re interested in obtaining general legal work experience and do not currently have a preference.
Eligibility: Please note that work experience placements are only available to individuals aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, you are welcome to apply in the lead-up to your 18th birthday.
